FAQs

Here are some questions we are frequently asked. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any other queries.

What is the warranty on your pianos?

All of our pianos come with a 10-year structural guarantee. This covers the action and strings inside the pianos.

What does free delivery include?

All prices include delivery to ground floor addresses free-of-charge, within the M25.

What are the prices for steps and stairs?

Additional floors are chargeable at £60 per floor. If your address is raised ground floor, that counts as one floor up. A basement delivery counts as one floor down. One or two steps up or down are not chargeable, so if you have a step up to your front door, for example, this will be included within the price free of charge. Additional delivery charges for flights of stairs can be organised and paid for separately following your piano purchase.

What do you charge for delivery outside of the M25?

Please contact us for delivery prices elsewhere in the UK. For example, an upright piano going to Birmingham would be around £100, in addition to the standard purchase price.

Do you offer international delivery?

Yes. For an accurate price, please contact us with your full postcode, nearest port and piano/s of choice.

What about tuning?

All prices include the first tuning free-of-charge, provided the piano is being delivered to an address within the M25. If you're outside of the M25, please contact us for details. With regular use, we recommend having your piano tuned every 6-12 months, at your own cost, by our recommended piano tuner.

Can we view your pianos?

Yes, we currently have all models on display in our showroom at: Kensington & Chelsea Pianos, 288 Kensington High Street, London W14 8NZ. Opening hours are Mon-Sat 10-6 (Fri 10-5) & Sun 12-5.

Having purchased my new piano, when can I expect to receive it?

Delivery will usually be the week following your purchase, but if you have a tight timescale do let us know. Just contact us after your purchase and we'll deal with everything for you. As a rough guide, London and the home counties are usually accommodated Mon-Wed, the Midlands and Ireland Thursdays, the North and Scotland Fri/Sat.

Can we buy a piano stool from you?

Yes. Our box stools are £75 and adjustable stools are £145. Please contact us for colour/style details, duet stools and bespoke options.

How do I choose between the 108 and 110 upright models?

The 108 upright is recommended for wooden, tiled or laminate floors. The 110 comes with wheels, so is recommended on carpets as well as wooden flooring.

What are the measurements of your grand pianos, in feet/inches?

The baby grand is roughly 4ft 6in deep; the 168 medium grand is roughly 5ft 8in deep and the 185 grand is roughly 6ft 1in deep. All measurements stated are height x width x depth.

How should I take care of my piano?

Never move grand pianos yourself - always get in touch with us for details of our piano removal specialists, even if it's being moved across by a few feet. Wipe the keys with a damp cloth and the body with a clean duster. Never put a vase of lowers on your piano, in case the water spills. Don't put soft drinks, hot drinks or alcohol anywhere near your piano; if you stick to that rule right from the start, you won't risk damaging your new piano!
